what this means to me

it started with copying my favorite manga when i was 8
my big sister was into graffiti, so naturally i was too
school related topics didn’t really catch my attention
drawing my own little sceneries did
studied communication design
realized i don’t vibe with the advertising industry
spent 5 years at Miniatur Wunderland as a model builder
started painting / exploring my creative toolbox
took part and hosted official and clandestine exhibitions
paintings turned into scanned images
those scans got layered, distorted and mixed up
jpgs started living on all kinds of objects and clothing
styles, approaches and tools changed over time

stumbled across tufting in 2023 and immediately felt something change
every new rug had the chance to be the best work i ever made in my life
happened a couple of times, moved me to tears

i thrive in rabbit holes, at least i think i do

currently working out of my home in berlin
dreaming of having my own studio and the underlying infrastructure

i’m just some guy trying to make his thoughts last a bit longer

gotta be fully honest i was delusional back then
call it youthful enthusiasm
saving money on all ends to buy canvases and paint
stacking those paintings in my bedroom
they’re still hanging in the houses of many loved ones
if you’re one of them thank you from the bottom of my heart
